Douze Jours????????????
With 12 days and ticking it still hasnt really hit me that I am leaving. We have this wierd formation about how to find a job after the mission, but the reality of it all hahsnt hit me fully, im expecting a full slap in the face when i arrive in Paris. I think then it will get me. So this week was interesting, we contacted most of our friends, hopefully some fruit wil come from it, i think my comp is couting down more than I. Not sure if that is a good thing, but we are working pretty hard, we have problems finding GOOD people to teach, hopefully al the hard wrok will pay off this week, we have recieved some people who have potential, and we are hoping to have four baptisms the 28. Fanta, is FANTAstic! SHe is the mulusmanne and she is by far the best investigaotr we have, she have read to mosiah already and it has its like teaching a blank slate, we can tell her anything and she will believe it, its kinda different than teaching people that are indoctrinated with junk doctrine, and when you tell them the truth they refuse it, this week we taught her the 10 commandements, she astoinded that people(christians) dont do these things, we taught her who was john baptist and there is such an sweet innocence with here I love her!!! Hopefully she wil get married the 28 and we will baptise her the same day! We started to complete a family, we finally got the father of a family to come to church, Lazare, and he is open to listen to us! anyways its really ridiculous that in 12 days im going to be transfered to texas, and im going to see you guys all again, but I want to come home with honor, I want ot be able to look everyone square in the eyes and they can see that a served my God honorably! with Elder Phillips being in the apartement, as been a big blessing for me, he is one the best guys I know, and we philosophise alot about the future after mission. I could say that i have had a sort of neg. attitiude about going home, just saying that the whole idea about going home is bad, but now I can say im excited to see whats next, I have done well, and now its time to take another step! anyways time to stop thinking and get working, love you all and cant wait to see your beautiful faces and you can wait to see my beautiful feet!! Remember who you are!!!!

Mars déjà?
Well its march! last month here! Saturday walking to an appointment and it hit me that too soon all this will just be a memory, and I will never see it in the same light, walking the streets of Africa as a missionary... ou until Im a senior missionary with my wife! A new couple missionary came this week, the Baileys, they came to replace the gillis who fly home tomorrow! thats wierd!! Cause they came and left before I did! This week was another week of door to door... god really wants to see if I will be faithful even when I have no rendez-vous and im contacting HUGE houses and we never get past the guard and the dogs.... quite different than what I am used to in my mission! kinda difficult but its in the difficult times we learn who God really is! President has asked us to look for an apartment in our area cause right now we are spending over half of our soutien on transport to and fro to our area. Meet alot of Evangelists, always interesting lessons, AMEN! This week we had a hunch to visit someone before we left for the nite, so we went and he wasnt there, I was wondering why we spent all that time in vain, well walking to the apartement, some guy said its the mormons.. we stopped and talked to him, turns out his brother lives in England and is a bishop and he keeps calling his brother to tell him to look up the church here, really god is great!!! Just the stuff like that what makes a mission incredible!!!! If one is faithful and worthy, all is possible!! We are going to have a conference de pieu here this weekend, and it will be in our new chapel that is being built, its is HUGE really looks like a north amer building, including volleyball terrain! we made invitations to pass out and hopefully LOTS of amis will come becuase of the nex buliding and then we can smite them with the turth and the spirit!! well I better go thanks for all that you do and I cant believe that at the end of this month Im leaving here! Did you ever get my Drivers license renewed? and can we find plantains, or large bananas over there? I need to know that!!! love you alll!!!! remember who you are!!

WHOA!!
Félicitations Amanda!! Half scholarship that great!!! I havnt thought a lot about school, I try to avoid that image right now, i kinda have the idea to go there for a semester and then see if I want to transfer of stay.ill pray about it when I get home cause right now we need to be absolutely focused! So this week brought MORE changes, so one nite I was supposed to do a transfer with our district leader, Elder Bukassa, so we left after CEP, all the way to Port-Bouet, we got there about 21h30. We stood around waiting for them to come, they never came, my comp and I dont know the area, he ahd and 'idea' where it was, so we went searching, it was a wierd experience, we ended up near the bouchery with malisians telling us to come and eat their meat because the name Obama was painted on their sign! We never found them and returned to the apartment, to our suprise two new elders and president waiting for us. So Elder Phillips and Elder Gnohohi are in our area, so for the last two months I ahve been gereing two wards, Cocody and Riviera, but now we are in Cocody. And we have done the most work in Riviera, so I get a small goute of what life as a missionary in America is like, all we do is porte a porte in rich apartements complexs. Its very different... havnt had much luck yet but we gotta have faith! The thing is though, we meet a lot of.. interesting... people! Much different that the rest of my mission! Hopefully things will work out, they always do! The one thing that really deranges me is when people try to talk to you through the door, they always ask who is there? and we always respond, ITS US! A lot of people just HAVE to see 'us'! It will build character i guess, He wants to see if I will be faithful to the VERY end even when it is difficult!! I will! The truth has really been restored, doing the porte a porte just strenghtens my testimony that really what I ahve is TRUTH , and everyone wants to have it but they are so blinded by their own pride and ignorance that it really disgusts me! Be grateful for what He has given us and try to share it with others! The book of Mormon is truly another witness of Him, and Joseph Smith was called divinely to brings to pass the work of the last days!!! Anyways love you all so much and remember who you are!!!!

En Avant!!
Its wierd to think about that I have recieved my last companion, Elder Balley. He will desend in June, he is a great guy and speaks really fast slurred french,I love it!!! This week has been eventful I could say... New companion, and now the apartment is really clean cause there is only two of us an dwe are both really clean, yeah imagine that mom, me a very clean and tidy guy now!!! Anyways one nite we tucked ourselves to sleep and in the middle of the nite the doorbell rang, it was 2 in the morning, we tried to ignore it but they kept on ringing it, we open the door and its 4 missionaries, one was my old comp! Earlier in the day he told me he was going to stop by and pick up some fish but he never came so when I saw him I was furious! But in this dazed state they told me president sent them to sleep here for the nite. So they slept on the floor, and the next morning I thought i was a dream until I walked out of our room and saw them there. To this day I really dont know why they were there, except that they worked in my area for the day and spent the nite again and it the morning they left. wierd. Being new to Abidjan is different cause now my co,p doesnt know alot about this area, and we have to travel alot to do interviews, trainings, switch offsand all that other stuff. Our friends are doing good, we got a bunch of new invetigators this week, and everyone could have potential, we were tracting and ran into this place that had about 5 americaine cars, chrystler, A really sweet 4 door jeep rubicon, all with americaine licence plates. They guy works for the UN and we taught his daughter, wife. THey are not too far from the new chapel. All is going well here, I forgot to look up my driver licence number... you cant find it there? Its rainign today and we need to go to market of Adjamé, meaning that it will be really muddy! I will do it next week, Well I love you guys and I hope all is well over there, have a great week and remember who you are!!!

Un étranger vous a écrit
What I could use now is some time, i really dont know where it all goes but someone needs to share ALOT with me! Well this week has been a week of learning, I have spent a lot of time thinking about what I can do to help this branch, and I have been blessed with bunches of revelation that will help this area be the best in Abidjan. All I need is some time, and bunches of spirit and enthusiasm and i really think it could all start to work. Well the first thing we needed was a DMB, ward mission leader, so we went out an found the old one and talked to him about the problems and who we need him, he was very discouraged because the lack of efforts of members and sadly previous missionaries, no branch missionaries, and a dispute bewteen him and the eveque pretty much killed his desire to put forth vain efforts and that resulting in four=2 0baptisms. So we tried to motivate him and I think we sparked something, he promised to come to CEP this week and help with our activity. We hav been blessed with better and better investigators, and even this week we lanced a batismal date! And we ahve another two to do this week! So our numbers are always growing, this week we had another suprise come in the morning leadership meeting with president, basically to intruct us on some small stuff, grr. It messed up our program for that day and supposively our busiest day! today after finishing my cleaning duties, i was reading and thinking about our problems, basically the conclusion I decided is that the members dont know how to do missionary work, so what if for three mintues before the third hour, a branch missionary, DMB or missionnaire full time gives like a TIP of how to do various missionary tasks. When this thought came, i knew it could work and could slove alot of future and present problems! I dunno seems like this week was full of this kinda stuff, more than usual, just amazingly great ideas and spiritual thoughts, i dunno that was I remember of this week, later on today we are going on a safari.... to the zoo should be interesting! Then friday President Cardon, area authority will be here for our zone conference, we will see what he says... whats else... I love you all!!! I dont think there is much more to write that would be interesting to you, oh Amutahn ahs arrived, meaning nice dry air and cooler nights!!! Well have a great week and remember who you are!!!!

Ma Lettre
Seems like I am here every other day, so this week we starved. AZ the end of soutien, and we spent a lot of money on taxi so that we can see people, here we spend alot more money on taxi than food and we didnt have much of of either. But today we went to marché so next two weeks will be good, right now im stuffed with futru. So this week we talked with my majic family, they didnt come to church and we taught them once, it it was kinda difficult the lesson, but we taught a record high for this place with 14 lessons this week! So what I found out this week is that last year this ward had only 4 baptisms. that may sound like a lot for a ward but usually is like 30-40 baptisms. So we got a lot of work to do. We have orgainzed a fireside so hopefully we will find some more people to teach, I think though that we might need to start teaching the members the lessons cause they dont know them, from what I have seen when a member is baptised they have stopped teachiing the lsssons, and they four that were baptised have no idea for joseph smith or commandements, so it might be to stregnethen the members here cause really they dont do anything, so build and strengthen SION! If the members dont do missionary work , there is no missionary work. So we have been discussing and we might need to build a foundation with the members. We got a lot of work to do. Well the new new is the gillis are coming here, they will help out in the office until they leave with me. We do a lot of traveling for our Zone, assisting at different district meetings, and such. We were at the office of the mission, and sister Aykoue was going to take us back to our next appointment, and it ended taking us hours, cause she had to stop 3 places and she drove slower than we walk. So this week we did some contacting by the new ward building that the church is building, supposively done in February by in reality septembre. With mild success, finding a member from ghana who did know the church was here. Anyways hope all going well ove there have a great week and reemmber who you are!!!!

Les Meilleurs Voeux!
Les Meilleurs Voeux!
A New Year has started, 2009! Its really wierd to think about cause this is the year I come home, for all of 2008 I was in the excellent service of my Lord, everyday, and it wierd to think that this year, I will and will not.... Im not sure how that makes me feel... SO this week was interesting, seeing how the Ivorians celebrate the new years was a little different than Togo, Togo most people drink and are wasted, here EVERYONE and their DOG is wasted, for at least two days. THe streets were empty cause everyone was trying to sleep off their hangover. Needless to say, not muxh progressed. Except we are now teaching two families that probably will get baptised! One of the families wer found was probably the most unique way I have ever found someone to teach. So we were visiting an investigator, not serious, and I noticed some kids playing next to the house, so I pulled a coin out of my pocket and called them over... and I started doing magic tricks for these kids. They were delighted! I was passing a good time with these kids and the papa came out. And said that he wanted to talk to us. He was impressed that a grown up would go out of his way to play with kids, he told us we must have something special. So we khave started to teach his family, and they really have accpeted it so far! Thanks to magic tricks! We had a leadership meeting this week. I need to eat something, all I have eaten all we is bread, rice, and loco(fried bananas) not al that healthy. I got a question, someone asked me what generation of member I am. I have no idea, do you know? Well anyways love you all have a good day!!!! Remember who you are!
