Some Strange letter from Some Stranger in Some Strange Land

Well This week was general conference for us, it takes awhile for the DVDs to come, but it was a good experience! I really enjoyed the solemn assembly, we missed it cause we had some rendez-vous to do before that, but I had the chance to watch it two weeks earlier at the couples house, I really can say I recieved an amazing witness of a TRUE prophet of God! I know that is pretty cliché but I did, and just another stone adding to my house of faith. The talks were all good, excpet half the time the little rascals kept trying to play with us during the whole thing, us Anglophones were upstairs listen to conference until the about the afternoon session word got out around the kids that the 'yovos' were hiding out up stairs, that was a ruckus! I love kids! I want 24 of them, at least! But finally we locked the door and things calmed down! Overall it was good, we were blessed with cloudy day so the sun didnt hit too hard! This week was the first we with my new companion, a little shy but it probably better than my faults, Elder Carter and I took a challenge of a 1500 piece cassetête(puzzle) so after dinner we work on it, provides a little relaxation and good memories of mommy always doing puzzles! Basile and Ernestine are improving, its really hard for Ernetine cause she holds a high position in her church, and Im not sure if she is paid for it, but she believes everything we teach them and prays earnestly to know, so all will work out! Their son, Zabdeil, is a stud and a half! He came to church once so far, he has 11 years, and during our rendez-vous he asks really good questions and his answers are astounding!! He has really impressed me!  Everyone else is creeping along slowly but steadilly, wow I wrote a lot more than I thought I was going to! Anyways hope all is well and you knokw that I love you sooo much! So passez une bonne semaine and souvienez-vous qui vous etes!

Love,

Flying Time, what else will they think of next?

Seriously time flies way too fast! We had zone conference this week and transfers are tomorrow, I am getting another new comp. He is from ST. George and doesnt speak french very well, well I could say that he doesnt speak at all, very shy. But we have a good 'field' ahead of us cause since wednesday, we had now 7 investigators with baptismal dates! I am pretty excited cause I have worked soo long in this quartier, and now I actually might get to see the fruit of the work! So I think it will be alright! Today we went fishing and caught a couple of catfish looking things, its a wierd looking fish! It would have been better if the crocodiles were there, people say sometimes! haha I got to say the highlight of the week was Prisca baptism. THE LONGEST investigator I have ever taught and she was ready for baptism! The best part was Petit, a person I taught a little while ago did the baptism, really was a special moment for me! The most spîrit -jerking baptism! It was really strong! Just so much stuff happens and I love every mintue of it! Yeah its hard, really hard, ridiculuously hard at times, but through it all, you come out a better person, especially when people try tell you that you are wrong, just some cult church out for money, the devil tell your prophet to drink blood, but as 1 peter 1:6-9. your testimony tried is worth more than gold! Its really good in French, I dont know about English... Anyways I got to go lots of more things to do today, lots of people to see! Well all is good the the 'Kingdom of Togo' and also chez moi! I love you all and remember who you are!

ANother Week

A week has gone again.... Amazing! This week not a lot of new things happened except of a few moments. Well Tuesday is our district meeting, it was just another district meeting, but out of the nowhere President Dil showed up and assisted with us. Very odd, especially that he is a country away and he is coming again in two weeks for zone conference. Now as I think about it, this week was really odd. Lots of random people just appeared out of thin air! First was Hortance Sunday, then President Dil Tuesday. Wednesday, The Southams came from Bénin and suprised us in the morning! It was so good to see them, really bizarre to see them here but still good! Then someone else random poked up later this week, an a good investigator who moved, but randomly showed up a church again!!! Great week as I think about it! Petit, who is a new convert of ours is the best man ever! When we went to see him,(by the way he knows what it means to be a real disciple of jésus-christ because after his baptism, he has given us so many referrals because he has tasted the fruit, one already has a baptismal date) but he was all excited cause Sunday he wanted to render his testimony at church! He was so excited to do it, it was asking all these questions like do I need to write it down, where is the sign up sheet, how long does it have to be! I was so proud of him! Then Sunday, he was the second one to render his testimony and it was short, simple, sweet and Powerful!!!! He is such and awesome guy!!!! Tonite we are going to have Family Nite with Basile and Ernestine, we will be watching THe Restoration with them! I hope they feel something! The work is moving ahead, fast and testimony meeting, there is hardly any downtime, everyone is so anxious to give some thanks to our Father in Heaven, thinking about home, when usually there is ALOT of downtime, kinda disappoints me thinkiing about it, that no one wants to render a testimony with all that has been bestowed on our heads? Tough question....  So this week I have been reading and studying like crazy, I have listened to the entire CD of Joseph Smith this week! That is impressive cause we never have power, it has been out for days at a time, sometimes coming on late at nite! But I have learned so many new things, some of which I share with investigators! It goes good when I have to do my laundry, it takes awhile when you have to do it by hand! I also taught myself how to read music, and play the piano, it was a challenge from my companion, he said I couldnt do it, so I sat down for and hour, after reading the Hymn book and a lot of guessing, I figured it out! So now I can play Hymns! Kinda wierd! My comp wasnt too happy about it! Oh well!!! Life is great!!! I love it, walking for miles and miles and miles under the African sun, talking and conversing with the best people(in general) I have evr meet! I also getting pretty strong the native tongue, I can do most of my buying in éwé, which helps me get more bananas cause everyone thinks it so hilarious that a yovo can speak vidé vidé!  I eat alot of bananas, a ridiculous amount, I really like bananas right now!!!! Well thats about all, for this week, life is so much brighter with a hope and a knowledge of truth of the restoration!!!! Never live a day without it!! anyways I love you all and hope all is well!
Remember who you are!!!!
